After the season that the Ohio State Buckeyes had last season, there were high hopes, especially after then freshman Jared Sullinger said he would return for at least his sophomore season to make a deeper run. That starts today, with the exhibition game against Walsh.

The newly shaped Jared Sullinger looks to play more facing the basket, having worked all off season on his weight and quickness. The reigning Nation Freshman of the Year, working on his game, only proves one thing, he wants to win.

Other than Sullinger, the Buckeyes also return other key members of last years number one overall seed in the NCAA tournament.

The team will be lead by it's only senior, William Buford, who also made the call to come back for his senior season to have a shot at a National Championship. The Buckeyes will look to lean on there senior leader at times, hoping that his experience with past teams will continue to help his ever evolving game.

Also returning to the court for the Buckeyes, point guard Aaron Craft, who commands control of the floor when he is on it, and takes away the play of the opposing point guard. Look for craft to take control of the floor early in his sophomore season.

Deshaun Thomas, also a returning sophomore, looks to expand his role within this Buckeye basketball team.  He got a taste of what life is like as a Buckeye hoops star last season and looks to expand his role even more in his sophomore year.

Making his Buckeye basketball debut today will be junior forward Evan Ravenel, a big physical forward who transferred in and sat out last season from Boston College. The junior is more than hungry to see some court time donning the Scarlet and Grey.

With a disappointing freshman year behind him, sophomore interior player J.D. Witherspoon looks to take flight against all opponents this season. Thad Matta hopes that Witherspoon can make more of a contribution to the team this season.

Sophomore guard Jordan Sibert will have a golden opportunity to showcase his talents, a pure shooter who should be able to light up the scoreboard. He will get his chance this season and all of Buckeye Nation is hoping he is the real deal.

After all of that, there's still more, the Thad Matta also brought in another top 10 recruiting class. Showcasing highly touted big man Amir Williams, silky smooth point guard Shannon Scott, big bodied post player Trey McDonald, and a linky wing player with a text book release Sam Thompson.

The Buckeyes look to work on a few things in this practice game with Walsh, hopefully they can get the whole team enough minutes to get some game experience to start the season.
